Jennifer is a highly skilled group facilitator, speaker, advisor, psychosocial risk manager, evidence-based practitioner and clinician. Jennifer specialises in assisting organisations, groups and individuals in the areas of workplace psychological health and safety, rehabilitation, leadership, organisational development and clinical treatment services.
Jennifer has more than two decades of experience working across a range of industries, including health and community services, retail and wholesale trade, manufacturing, transport and construction. She has held senior leadership positions within private and public sector organisations, where she was responsible for leading nationally distributed teams to achieve regulatory compliance in workplace health and safety and rehabilitation. Most notably, Jennifer worked in a leadership role with the Queensland Safety Regulator, transforming their state-wide safety leadership and culture program with more than 1000 participating organisations.
Jennifer has experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating clients across the lifespan. Jennifer worked at P&L Psychology, a Brisbane based private practice providing psychological support within various sectors including health, disability, education, family services, community and corporate. Jennifer also worked within a multidisciplinary team setting, conducting initial needs assessments, and delivered cognitive behavioural therapy for clients as part of their rehabilitation following traumatic brain injury. Additionally, Jennifer developed and delivered workplace training to assist care teams to better understand and support clients during their recovery process following traumatic brain injury. Jennifer also assisted in the delivery of workplace mediation services, as well as completing parenting assessments.
Jennifer practiced at the Sunshine Coast Mind and Neuroscience – Thompson Institute (University of the Sunshine Coast) Psychology Clinic in Birtinya, delivering individual psychotherapy services and cognitive and learning assessments to children, adolescents and adults presenting with conditions including anxiety, depression, intellectual impairment, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism spectrum disorders. Jennifer has also provided outreach therapeutic support to cancer survivors and their family members at the Bloom Hill Cancer Care Centre in Buderim.
Jennifer is currently completing her Master in Psychology (Clinical) where she continues to refine her assessment and treatment skills, as well as undertaking applied research within the construction industry, evaluating the effectiveness of social identity interventions to enhance the mental wellbeing of construction workers.
Jennifer employs a warm, understanding, and non-judgemental approach, which provides for a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients. Jennifer is trained in delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) techniques to clients.
